I began my journey by eliminating the kidney triggers such as refined added sugars, reading The 30 Day Faith Detox, drinking more and purified water and eating clean.

As part of the 30 day faith detox, I needed to address my lower bowels.  I was reminded of the amazing testimonials I had heard from customers while working for Dr Christopher’s Herb in college.  We sold a formula specific to cleaning the bowels and I definately needed and extra boost and decided to use the ingredients in Dr Christopher’s Lower Bowel Formula and put together my own tea with herbs I found locally from World Of Nutrition, Nampa’s bulk herb section for half the price.

Reconstructing my normal existence…

If you would have told me last year that things in my life would NEVER be the same I would have told you you were crazy.

But that is exactly what has occurred over the past nine month.  Every aspect of my life has been demolished and reconstructed in a whole new and improved way.

  • I sleep soundly and wake up refreshed.
  • I eat better food.
  • I feel better.
  • I shop differently.
  • My relationships have changed.
  • My routine has had drastic reconstructing.
  • My goals and perspective has changed.

NOTHING is as it used to be and it NEVER will be.  I’m moving on to new horizons.  There is no turning back.

One Day at a Time

We live in a culture that seeks immediate results.  We want things NOW.  We want things easy.

Well nothing is that simple.  When it comes to healing and lasting results we must take it One Day at a Time and recognize our complete need for divine intervention.

I want to simplify it for you and share some history of how I got to where I am.

I had heard about detoxing and cleansing when I worked for Dr Christopher’s herb shop connection back in college over 10 years ago.  But like so many I had never considered my need for health, I was young and healthy.

That was then.

Rewind back 9 months ago…

I knew I was not feeling well, tired all the time, and I struggled to get out of bed.  It seemed like a mild depression or lack of motivation.  Maybe I was just getting older.

I had settled for this as normal.  I couldn’t figure out why I had no energy, after all I ate a variety of good food and drank only water.

My kidneys were hurting almost constantly, reminding me of the nickel sized kidneys stone that had put me in the hospital for three days in August of 2012 and my skin eczema had reached an all time unbearable, itchy, and blistering state that kept me up most nights.  Escpecially the week leading up the the full moon.

I soon started experimenting with removing added sugar from my diet and discovered that my eczema and my kidneys were fueled by added sugars.

I knew I had stumbled on something incredibly effective and dove right in.  My body was overloaded in many areas and I was desperate for lasting result.

Here is my reason’s for detoxing.

  • I knew my body must be overloaded

  • My organs were beginning to hurt for no apparent reason
  • I was tired of feeling like crap

Eczema is Clearing

The basics to my healing break through.

My eczema started clearing up after I was able to go without sugar and started drinking my greens from Purity Products Organic Juice Cleanse. It would flair back up when I snuck any sugar and that dang maddening itch began.  I would notice a pattern as I was out standing outside observing the full moon.  So I began to pay attention and realized that quite a bit of restlessness, swelling and itching occurred each month abouth 5 days prior and up to the full moon.  I tried many things that helped, like changing my diet, morning detox drink, and some that didnt.  While diets is key, the easiest most simple methods are my Nightly Detox Baths followed by soaking my hand in vodka and essential oils and alternating with my thyme discovery.  I used these things nightly until my hand cleared and anytime I could feel a flair up followed by applying Mom’s Stuff Salve.  With patience and vigor over the past 8 months I have been clear of painful blistering for two months now.  What are you waiting for?  Get started today or step it up.

End Each Night With a Detox Bath

Our skin is the largest detox organ of our body.  Once I accepted this, I started taking detox baths every night until my skin cleared up nicely.  I simply used a recommended bath I had heard about online and added some essential oils for fragrance.

My mom has used oils for years for massage therapy, but I had just thought they were used for their scent alone.  I just hadn’t grasped the healing properties they hold until this year.

Here’s my nightly detox bath soak

  • 1/4 cup Mule Team Borax
  • 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
  • 5 drops of essential oils (optional)

I followed my bath by drying completely and rubbing vodka and thyme and cloves essential oils on any dry spots, zits, moles, and skin tags then applying a cream I had made with ingredients from Mom’s Stuff Salve on my eczema.  I had tried it before from my mom and loved it so much that I made my own.  My homemade salve was still no match to the real time tested formula, so I ordered my own.

“I Could Never Be A Health Nut!”

Up to the point that I was suffering from kidney stones and pains, and severe eczema to searching out a remedy that would last, I had viewed “those” people who drastically changed their lifestyles, lived on a strict diet, denied their kids sugar, ate all organic,  or read lables at the grocery store as a bit extreme and I could NEVER live such a restricted life.  Why live in such misery and torture?  That is not for me.

Well that all changed when I began to feel better after changing a few key things in my life.  Learning what I can eat rather than focusing on the foods to avoid.

After experiencing the drastic healing of my health issues, my moods being up, energy levels amazingly improving, I was converted.

I will forever be ONE OF THOSE.  I AM NOW PROUD TO BE A BIT OF A HEALTH NUT.

So you want to feel good?

I have discovered the natural way to improve my life.  It’s far too good to keep to myself. This is for all my friends and family who are curious about my new lifestyle changes and all those others who would like to learn what has worked for me.

Some of us grow up hearing, ‘it’s all about our diet and exercise.’ Well, if you are like me, you may think, ‘I do not need to diet’, or , ‘I eat pretty healthy.’  This is the thinking that has gotten me into a bit of trouble.  Maybe you have trouble losing weight, feel sluggish, losing momentum or plain just don’t ever feel good.  You may be on your own healing path and have tips to share.  You’re all in the right place.

Well, diet and exercise is a broad and overused term. I will attempt to break it down and explain exactly what that means to me today…

I am a 34 year old, mother of four children and 120 pounds on a heavy day. I grew up in Utah, eating the average American diet of cold cereals, malt o meal, oatmeal, eggs, french toast, pancakes, waffles all smothered in margarine and imitation maple syrup and toast with margarine for breakfast’s. Macaroni and cheese, ramen noodles, school lunches and fast foods once or twice a month for lunches.  I enjoyed a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables for snacks and home cooked dinners (mostly out of a can of coarse).  I drank a cup or two of milk daily and a juice on occasion.  We had six kids in the family so the fresh food went quickly.

I recreationally used drugs and alcohol and tobacco as a teenager, but I quickly turned my life around upon getting pregnant, and turning my life over to God and being forgiven by the blood shed by Jesus Christ for all my sins. I married at 17 and began my family.

I had always fairly healthy, but I occasionally suffered from dry skin and cracking, some athletes feet, eczema and warts.  These skin issues went dormant mostly after my teen years of partying. (I will share my conclusion on this in a later post)

As a mom, I loved to cook mostly from scratch and use family recipes, I made homemade pies like my dad and my mom’s no bake cheesecake for Christmas and Thanksgiving. I enjoy creating new and healthy snacks, rice krispie treats, cookies of all kinds (with what I thought was a healthy twist.)  I also enjoyed homemade pancakes smothered in imitation syrup, whole wheat flour, oatmeal raisin cookies with nuts, I served my family crepes weekly (white flour, egg, milk, a thin pancake smothered in margarine and powdered sugar).

Basically I ate a good balance of good and healthy foods and plenty of bad foods, a ton of candy, sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup for over 30 years. You get the picture.

All in all, I seemed pretty healthy most of the time. I did start to feel sluggish, low energy, and had a complete lack of motivation or ability to keep up with my kids the past 10 years or so, but this is normal right?

So I thought…

This is only the beginning of amazing things to come.

Oh No, a Fever!

IMG_20160609_210837.jpgIt can be a freighting time when your child is sick.  It is important to know when it’s time to treat at home and what constitutes an emergency.  If action is taken early on many emergency action may be prevented. A quick reference guide to fever shows when to be alarmed.  Otherwise, many home remedies and herbs may be just what is needed to boost the little ones through the other side and speed up recovery.

Here are my favorite go to herbs for child cold, flu, fever and infection.  The idea is to be prepared rather than panicked at the time of need.  Do your research and have on hand many of these for such an occassion.  Infections are common and can be squashed before they take over and those pesky antibiotics are recommended.

Grapefruit seed extract is a safe and healthy alternative to oral or topical antibiotics.  Oregano and thyme oil can also prove effective topically. (A very strong oral antibiotic but just as deadly to your good bacteria that make up your immune system.  -use with caution under supervision of a naturalpath or specialist only)

Grains, breads and dairy are hard on the gut and feed harmful bacteria and prevent healing.  Cut these three things and the healing begins.

When we have a clogged toilet, this requires immediate attention.  If left too long it can cause major problems.  You get the idea.  Well our bodies are not much different.  They may require our help from time to time.  If something gets in the way of the flow, this can make us sick.  We cannot easily take a plunger to our bodies, but there are many simple and tested remedies and many are easily accessible.

The Sound of Baby Crying

Today I was contacted by a mom who was concerned for her 2 month old baby boy and needed formula because her son wasn’t able to breastfeed.

However, she was heading to the ER for her son, who was now having difficulty breathing.  I had a thought to ask her if he was recently immunized, and he had received a few last week.

Since then, he had been up at night screaming, fevered and unable to suckle and eat well.

He was having a vaccine reaction.  I quickly got in contact with a few natural pathic Dr in my area and a team of freedom fighters from Health Freedom Idaho, who quickly volunteered their support and services.

Here. The recommendations that they laid out for this breastfeeding mama and baby to detox from the side effects and mercury toxins

One must be careful when breastfeeding as to not detox and spread toxins to baby. The chlorella is a binding kelp that prevents the detoxing mercury from going into breast milk.

For $44.95 I was able to purchase the following items and take them to her to help begin the process.

From the Kardfeldt Center in Idaho in daily recommendations.

“I would suggest that you get vitamin C (just plain ascorbic acid) and take 1000 mg three times a day. I would also get some bentonite clay and make a mud pack of it and put it over the baby’s liver and spine. Also, drink a quart of horsetail tea. You prepare it by putting 4 tablespoons of the herb and 1 quart of water and simmer it for 10 minutes. Then you strain it and you can sweeten it with a little bit of honey for taste. I would also suggest that you take 500 mg of magnesium maltate (MagBright would be preferred) and 25 mg of zinc. These suggestions are listed according to importance if you’re concerned with the cost. You should be able to find all of these things over at World of Nutrition in Nampa.”

Now, thanks to a quick response from caring professionals and the community, instead of crying, baby is sleeping soundly.

What! You don’t let your kids have sugar?

I have made some major changes this year, one being eliminating sugar from my diet and my kids diet, and have taken a lot of heat for it from others.  I feel like I am making the best choices for my children’s and my own health and for some reason, many feel that they must criticize and undermine me and tell me how terrible and mean I am being.

At birthday parties… “A little cake won’t hurt them.” Then comes candy from the piñata , ice cream and soda to top it all off.

Social gatherings… “Your mom won’t mind you having a little dessert” or two.

At the bank, from strangers… “What, they can’t have sugar? It’s only a sucker”

And still other times… “You can have it if you don’t tell you mom”

I don’t mind being the target, however, doing in front of or directly to my kids is not acceptable.  I have taught them why I have made these changes and they understand and don’t fight me.  I don’t need others to chime in and teach my kiddos to disobey or disregard my decisions.

I’m content being different and choosing to do the difficult in order to fight off disease.

My now five year old is just fine with it now.  I just remind him not to feed the worms.
