What about INFECTIONS?

Tamiflu-Renal ImpairmentSo a lot has happened since my journey of healing has begun.  This year I had home birth with baby number 5, began small homesteading projects, and helped the kids begin a small family business, Watts Kids Market, selling mild beneficial goat milk soap and herbal salves that have helped me along this journey.

I had a few complications while pregnant, and postpartum and here is my summary for getting through my infections SAFELY EVEN WHILE PREGNANT…

I had kidney stones at 15 weeks pregnant, after picking apricots, pulling weeds, and transplanting strawberries in July.  And discovered what may have been the trigger, antibiotic use several years ago (see #8 in linked article).  IN MY CASE ANTIBIOTICS AND TAMIFLU.

HISTORY
Trouble for kidneys seemed to have started after I had the Swine Flu in 2010, I went along with recommended TAMIFLU.  Known side effects being kidney disease…  LUCKY FOR ME…

Then in 2012 I came up with protein in my urine while pregnant and swollen kidneys, then I had unexplained hives just in the mornings during this pregnancy as well.

 

2018 5th PREGNANCY

Some of the testing late in pregnancy is GBS, Group B Strep.  I was advised that I would be given antibiotics during labor to prevent transferring this harmful bacteria to the baby.  Well neither option was okay for me so I began to search for more natural ways to cure it and then retest…  I stumbled upon wellnessmama.com and learned that it could be done by basic everyday foods and easy to do.  I quickly went to work and followed the things that I had on hand and a bit more.

GBS POSITIVE

HERE IS WHAT I DID FOR  GBS FOR 5 DAYS…

  • Eating probiotic foods such as Kefir, Sauerkraut and other fermented foods
  • Taking a probiotic supplement and using it vaginally
  • Consuming raw garlic, cloves SEVERAL TIMES daily.  AND healing honey
  • Consuming Coconut Oil for its naturally antiviral properties.
  • raw apple cider vinegar daily internally and a daily rinse douche.
  • Lemon water with GSE- Grapefruit Seed Extract (use with caution and ask your care provider if pregnant)
  • I bathed in borax and vinegar and essential oils

After 5 days, I went in for retesting and came back GBS negative.  I would still be pressured to use antibiotics during labor if I was transported to a hospital for delivery.   Thankfully, we still have a choice and can refuse any treatments without recourse in this beautiful State of Idaho, many thanks for those who diligently fight to remain FREE, HEALTH FREEDOM IDAHO.

 

I delivered in early January at home to a beautiful and healthy baby boy with no GBS…

 

THE FLU

2 days later, I was full on sick with the flu due to exposure at my daughters birthday party.  I kept my baby close and used my Healing Honey and recovered quickly without my son getting sick at all.  Dr Brus wasn’t surprised as Breastmilk is amazing…

  • I doubled up on my HEALING HONEY
  • I stayed in bed
  • I soaked in a detox bath when I could
  • I finally drank a cup of expressed breastmilk

BEATING TETANUS and INFECTION

In July, I went to milk our goat and had flip flops on.  I hadn’t planned to do any work out there so I thought I was ok to wear them.  Well this sheet of 4 x 8 siding was leaning on the side of the barn and it was in the way of clearing some manure that I was going to shovel up, so I attempted to move this sheet by myself using my foot as a leverage point.  I slid the sheet right over my foot and before I knew it, I had sent a large stick sliver, manure and all, into the side of my foot.  I finished working and hadn’t realized just how big this SLIVER really was.  I filtered the milk and then looked down to check out the damage, by this time i was having trouble walking and sat down to realize this SLIVER was large and 4 inches long.

The stick went in diagonally from the side and all the way to my big toe.

Having had trouble with the ER, I considered pulling it out myself until I realized just how big it was and that it was woven between foot bones and cartilage and move my bones each time I stepped flat.

I gathered up my kids from the farm and into the van and we drove to the ER.

It only bled what you see in the picture and I waited 30 mins to head to the ER from time of injury, 30-45 minutes of waiting to be roomed at the ER, 20 or so minutes from then for the Dr to come in and look, 20 plus minutes for them to decide what to do next and x-ray (even though you cannot see wood in an x-ray) and then 10 plus minutes to gather needed, meds, tools and supplies to remove the PLANK…

Having understanding of the dangers of antibiotics and kidneystones (point #8 in article)…  I strongly refused antibiotics and the understanding of the ingredients and risk I strongly refused the tetanus shot against Dr recommendations.   I also read up how others have fought off tetanus naturally

So about 2 hrs of time for bacteria to set in well…

The nice Dr. carefully removed the wood piece and was about to leave, when I asked to see what she had removed.  She showed me the SMALL piece in the photo below.  I had to tell her that I was sure there was more inside and that what she had pulled out was only 1/4 of what was still inside.  She wasn’t so sure, but after my convincing her there was more, she agreed to cut open the other end near the toe and explore some more.  She pulled another 3 inches out the other end and irrigated it and let it bleed a little.

 

A nurse then came in to clean and wrap it and proceeded to contaminate it and cover it tightly with wound dressing against the recommendations to avoid tetanus.

I raced out of there as fast as I could and went home to soak it in a hot detox bath.

Here is what I did..

Soaked my foot several times that day

Took natural infection fighting remedies below.

In a small foot tub I added

  • Hottest water I could get
  • 1/4 c borax
  • 1/4 c epsom salt
  • 1/4 c apple cider vinegar
  • Thyme and Cloves Essential oils

I applied to the foot but not over the wound

Remedies I took internally

  • several spoonfuls of Healing Honey as several times a day
  • GSE – Grapefruit Seed Extract
  • Sovereign Silver
  • Chewing and swallowing raw garlic
  • Lots of water
  • Probiotics
  • Olive Leaf Extract

 

I continued to soak and take internal remedies until signs were completely absent for a few days.  It was still very painful to walk and I may have something still festering out but have not had to return to have it removed.

Healing Honey

I discovered this amazing remedy by trying to use up extra ingredients I had around.  I threw them altogether and let them sit a while.  Then when I needed extra garlic it was easier to get in the kids or myself.

Healing Honey

  • Local Raw Honey
  • Raw Garlic Cloves
  • Minced Ginger Root
  • Minced Turmeric Root

Peel and dice all ingredients and fill a small, medium or large mason jar and pour honey over til you cover the ingredients leaving 1/8 ” head space.  Cover lightly with a lid.  In 12-24 hours add more honey til jar is full.  The mix will somewhat ferment.

Once runny, store in a cool dry place or refrigerate for longer keeping.  I have had mine over 6 months.  If using metal canning lids you may consider a piece of parchment or waxed paper to reduce rusting lid around the ring.

 

Take a spoonful or more as needed for any and all symptoms.

Great for illness, parasites, infections, sore throat, GBS, headache, pain and inflammation, cold or flu, and more

Cayenne and Cinnamon Scrub Recipe

For those suffering with the maddening itch of eczema, flaring, blistering, itchy and chafing- a simple cayenne scrub may aid in healing and itch relief.  Start off slow on the cayenne and test on a small area.  It isn’t the easiest to tolerate at first but has played a major part in my healing journey along with my diet changes.  Here are some recipes I used along with my Cayenne Pain Salve

Cinnamon Paste (a mild beginning)

  • 1/2 c Peanut Butter
  • 4 Tbsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 4 Tbsp Raw Honey

Mix ingredients well and apply as needed.  Nightly until healing well.  Works well to relieve itching and draw out eczema.  Scrub, massage, scrape, or simply wash off.  Do not hesitate to scrub a little rough as this will help to get the rooted eczema to the surface.

Cayenne/Cinnamon Yogurt (for those just starting out and need a milder start)

  • 1/2 cup yogurt or kefir
  • 2 Tbsp Cayenne and/or 2 Tbsp Cinnamon

Mix ingredients well and apply as needed.  Nightly until healing well.  Works well to relieve itching and draw out eczema.  Scrub, massage, scrape, or simply wash off.  Do not hesitate to scrub a little rough as this will help to get the rooted eczema to the surface.

  • 1/4 cup bentonite clay liquid OR
  • 1/8 cup bentonite clay powder and 1/8 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp Ground Cayenne Pepper and/or 2 Tbsp Cinnamon

Cayenne/Cinnamon Scrub Recipe (For those ready to rage war and try anything)

  • 3 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter and/or Raw Honey

Mix ingredients in a small jar and apply to eczema or acne as needed for relief.  Daily or nightly as able.  Cover with towel or plastic bag as needed to leave on as long as possible.  (You may want to test a small area and the burn is temporary and you build a tolerance to it .  (starting out you may just want to add a dash of cayenne and work up to more)  I literally chased my eczema around my hand this way.  I had to get serious and attack full force.

Directions for using Cayenne treatments

Mix ingredients well and apply as needed.  At night or an hour before bedtime.

Cover with a plastic bag or old clothes to prevent staining clothing.

Wash as needed but burn doesn’t always stop immediately. Apply cool yogurt or other neutral cover to draw any burning needed.

The burning may continue after washed off so go at your own pace and tolerance level.  I was hard core and went full force after a while as my torture and itching was severe as well.

Caution: Wash Hands Thoroughly after application or use.  Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth or other sensitive areas after using.

After complete or in the morning, apply Pine Salve.

CAUTION: I would not try the cayenne with a young child. Cinnamon will burn a little so maybe start with a Tbsp and work up to more. I would do this for about a week during the most severe itchy times of the month as the eczema cycles.

Trial and Errors of HEALING

Remedies in the order that I have tried and the results I got (a work in progress)

Topicals

Dr recommendations prescribed and over the counter yeast and fungal creams, steroids and more.

He alone holds the keys.  Eating right is simply an act of taking care of the bodies we have been given with the foods God has provided.  I started out with recommendations from Laura Harris in her book, The 30 Day Faith Detox.  She has great recipes and shopping guides every step of the way.  If you need detailed and practical meal plans laid out for you, this may be your answer.  I found them to be a little extreme and I simplified many of the recipes based on what I could afford.  Either way, it is a good start for healing.

I pray God’s Spirit guides you in this journey that I am sure He has brought you here begin.  Start slow and slowly buy only these items for a while.  At the same time giving away, donating, or gradually consuming and not restocking harmful foods.  You can do this.  Let’s go shopping!

Sugar is toxic and causes disease.

Somewhere along my journey, I vaguely remember hearing about mercury toxicity, I assumed I had addressed it with my strict diet and lifestyle changes.

I have since traced back my kidney and skin issues from around the same time I had swine flu and the tamaflu shot while pregnant in Montana 2009 and having dental work completed through a student dental program for pregnant moms in 2011.

Up to this point, it has been an oversight, I had not quite acknowledged the fact that I had put two and two together.

I have watched the Vaxxed documentary on the autism link to MMR vaccine, however,  the fact that my four year old son has early signs of autism and has never received ANY vaccinations has me questioning his HEAVY METAL toxicity levels.  (He did have antibiotics at birth, was in NICU for a few days, on oxygen as a result of antibiotic reactions, then hospitalized at 1 yr for gastroentinitus,  given over 60 different IV medication.  (update: Now in 2018 following a binge of bad diet, he has shown further regression in his cognitive behavior, although he is still very smart.)

My kidney issues, his autistic traits. There has to be a link.

My friend made this connection today and has confirmed my oversighted thoughts and now I’m paying attention…

Cilantro Chelation Pesto

This wonderful recipe is by Colorado nutritionist Lynn Mayer, CNC

Ingredients

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/3 cup of Brazil nuts (selenium)
  • 1/3 cup Sunflower seeds (Zinc, Magnesium)
  • 2 cups packed with fresh cilantro (Vitamin A) – Also known as Coriander, Chinese Parsley
  • 2/3 cup flaxseed oil
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice (Vitamin C)
  • 2 tablespoons dulse powder
  • Sea salt to taste

Directions

Process the cilantro and flaxseed oil in a blender until the coriander is chopped. Add the garlic, nuts and seeds, dulse and lemon juice and mix until the mixture is finely blended into a paste. Add a pinch of sea salt to taste, and blend again. Store in dark glass jars if possible. It freezes well, so purchase cilantro in season and fill enough jars to last through the year. Cilantro has been proven to chelate toxic metals from our bodies in a relatively short period of time. Combined with the benefits of the other ingredients, this recipe is a powerful tissue cleanser. Two teaspoons of this pesto daily for three weeks is purportedly enough to increase the urinary excretion of mercury, lead, and aluminum, thus effectively removing these toxic metals from our bodies.

Simple Cilantro Pesto

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup almonds, cashews or other nuts
  • 1 cup packed fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

Put the cilantro and olive oil in blender and process until the cilantro is chopped. Add the rest of the ingredients and process to a lumpy paste (you may need to add a touch of hot water and scrape the sides of the blender). You can change the consistency by altering the amount of olive oil and lemon juice, but keep the 3:1 ratio of oil to juice. (It freezes well, so you can make several batches at once.

Here is another Metal Detox recipe that I constructed out of common ingredients. (Started again 12/14/2018)

  • 3 TBSP Bentonite Clay
  • 1 bunch Cilantro
  • 1 full bulb of Garlic
  • 1 tsp Activated charcoal
  • 3 TBSP Chlorella
  • 4 TBSP Irish moss
  • 1 to 2 C filtered water
  • 1/2 C Selenium

I blended up the water, cilantro and garlic.  Then added chlorella, irish moss and charcoal, then added bentonite clay and more water and selenium this smooth.  Selenium will gel up and so once it is added it will thicken up real quick.  I spooned out into ice trays to freeze for easy daily or 2 times daily use.  I would start out by ensuring that I was using the bathroom regularly and my colon is working well, VERY IMPORTANT, then I would be sure to be drinking plenty of water and on a good detox diet.  I would tackle this slowly and steadily for at least a week.  This is the very last but probably one of the most important parts of detoxing.
